At the intersection of AI and medical science, there is growing interest in using machine learning to enhance imaging data captured by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology. Recent studies show that ultra-high-field MRI at 7 Tesla (7T) has far greater resolution and could have clinical advantages over high-field MRI at 3T in delineating anatomical structures that are important for identifying and monitoring pathological tissue, particularly in the brain.
Spending more time on screens increases the likelihood that 9- and 10-year-olds will develop symptoms of mental illness, according to a study by UC San Francisco that is one of the first long-term looks at the problem.
The study followed a diverse group of kids from around the country for two years and found that more screen time was associated with more severe symptoms of depression, anxiety, inattention and aggression. It appears Oct. 7 in BMC Public Health.
