Scientists this week are moving into the headquarters for the Eli and Edythe Broad Center of Regeneration Medicine and Stem Cell Research at UCSF, where they will continue to advance a field transformed by the revolutionary achievement of Shinya Yamanaka.
As executive director of Public Affairs, Kristen Bole leads the public relations team for the UCSF enterprise, including the UCSF biomedical research campus, professional and graduate schools, and UCSF Health. An award-winning business reporter and editor, Kristen joined UCSF in 2007 after nearly 20 years of experience in business journalism, executive recruiting and public relations in health and science.
Jeffrey Norris, senior public information representative, covered a variety of topics for UCSF that range from basic research to complex bioscience. Prior to that, he worked as the web content manager for UCSF and for the National Science Foundation, where he handled communications with media for the policymaking National Science Board and for all major research directorates, and organized media trips to Antarctica and Greenland to advance coverage of climate change and other research.
