UCSF has produced a series of public service announcements to address mental health issues and other health-related issues in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami on March 11 and continuing crises at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan.
UCSF leaders gathered May 11 to acknowledge the impact the earthquake, tsunami and ongoing nuclear crisis has had on people in Japan and to show support of visiting Japanese students and scholars.
The campus community is invited to hear about the past, present and future of UCSF's role in combatting HIV/AIDS during a forum on May 17 to mark 30 years of AIDS and the official kick off the University's participation in the 25th annual AIDS Walk San Francisco.
UCSF students representing all four professional schools were selected as Bay Area Schweitzer Fellows and will spend the next year addressing health disparities in San Francisco.
The UCSF community is invited to help celebrate the grand reopening of the Marilyn Reed Lucia Child Care Study Center during an open house and tour on May 17, from noon to 2 p.m.
